Twitter’s Periscope app encouraged users around the world to stream live. However, the real boom happened when Facebook introduced live videos. Millions of users stream live every day on Facebook, and it seems like the social network giant is ready to bring live videos to Instagram as well. Recently, screenshots of Instagram’s live video feature leaked online which you can see in the above picture. Today, Instagram’s CEO, Kevin Systrom confirmed the upcoming live feature, stating:
“Live is really exciting for us. I think it can enhance what we’re doing. If I’m trying to strengthen relationships with someone I love, them streaming video to me live would be an amazing way to be closer to them.”
It is worth noting that the company actually seems to be testing the feature with some of its users, and it’ll likely roll out to everyone within the coming months. As for Windows 10 users, it is not really known when and if these features will be available. But of course, considering fact that Facebook and Instagram have been adding some of their latest features to the Windows 10 apps, the live video feature may only take a little while before it comes to Windows 10 devices.
We’ll let you know when the new feature is officially announced by Instagram, and when the feature is actually available for Windows 10 users.
