More than 200 million people use Instagram Stories, and the firm is planning to grow that number by making it more accessible. Instagram’s Stories have been rapidly expanding in availability, first appearing in Android and iOS, and then expanding to the various flavours of Windows. Now, users who make use of the web app will be able to view Stories both on desktop and mobile over the next few weeks. Instagram is designing its interface so it makes sense, rather than just transplanting the mobile app UI to the desktop. So you’ll find that stories will be on the side of the main feed on the desktops, while on mobile they’ll be right at the top — just like it is on the app.
Instagram will be rolling out support for viewing stories to everyone worldwide on the web, but you’ll need to use the mobile web to post stories.
