I’m a WP7 User– an app to show there are in fact more than 5 of us

wp7userRunning a Windows Phone 7 website I need no reassurance that there are a huge number of Windows Phone 7 users out there – the traffic numbers speak for themselves.

For a new Windows phone 7 user however it can appear to look pretty lonely out there, surrounded by a sea of iPhone and Android users.

I’m  a WP7 User is an app that allows one to see Users and Developers in your neighbourhood, region, state, country, or anywhere in the entire world, and in the next version will allow one to send messages directly to other users.

At the time of writing there are still only around 300 users in total, but that still means my nearest other user is only 4 miles away.

Usage is anonymous, except for developers who can use it to push their wares, and location can be by GPS, postcode or undefined “in the cloud”.

My only disappointment is that the app does not use Bing maps integration, but I am sure this feature will come eventually. Tapping on a person will show their map location.
