It is well know than Windows Phone sells best on the low-end and now Francisco Jeronimo, IDC Research Director, has tweeted that the average selling price for handsets running the OS has continued to drop rapidly.
Last year the average selling price of Nokia’s smart devices were 143 Euro ($182) and with many devices starting out t less than that now it is almost certainly even lower than that.
Windows Phone of course works pretty well on affordable hardware but we wonder if buyers are getting handsets running the OS for that reason, or simply because its the cheapest smartphone in the store.
