HTC Touch HD in the house

I have just received a HTC Touch HD from HTC to review. First impressions are, strangely, big, big BIG.

The screen is huge, but the device feels extremely wide. Build quality feels amazing – the phone has that solid bar of metal feel, but also feels pretty heavy. Coming from 2 generations of smaller phones it will take some getting used to.

The large screen certainly makes up for the lack of hard buttons – all on-screen controls are easily accessible without a stylus, and the on-screen keyboard works really well without obscuring on-screen content.

The device also feels incredibly fast and responsive. Menus open instantly, which is much different from my usual experience with Windows Mobile.

I will be doing a few more posts about the device, especially a comparative review with the Samsung Omnia, its main Windows Mobile competitor. If you have any questions about the device leave a comment below.
