Some pictures are leaking out over the internet of a device dubbed the HTC Touch HD with specs that finally makes it competitive with the iPhone 3G (except for built-in memory) on a toe to toe basis.
The HTC Touch HD has a huge screen, which looks to be about 3.8 inches, is WVGA at 800×480 pixels and is only 12mm thick. It does however finally feature a 3.5 mm headphone jack (finally!) and is an otherwise well specified modern WM Professional device, with HSDPA, GPS, 256 MB ram and 512 MB Flash ROM, microSD slot and a 528 Mhz Qualcomm processor. In addition is has a 5 megapixel camera with no flash. It is a full-screen device, with no D-pad and only 4 buttons: Phone, Answer, Home and Return.
The device is 115mm x 62.8mm x 12mm big, and has a 1350 mAh battery. The informant has said the device should be in stores by Christmas this year.
