Smartmobilegadgets reports that HTC is refreshing the HTC Touch, one of their most popular Windows Mobile devices ever.
The new device seems near identical to the older Touch, but features the Opera Mobile browser and a RSS reader and Podcast catcher in its “Internet” incarnation, and unlike the older GSM Touch’s has 128 MB RAM. There also appears to be a non-internet version which lacks WIFI and the other niceties mentioned earlier.
This is likely HTC making a play for the low-end range of devices buy exploiting a successful form factor, much like Motorola did with the Razr. While this strategy may be successful in the short term, its good news that HTC has already moved on to better and brighter things with its Diamond series.
Further details are in this HTC PDF here.
