HTC – iPhone 3G to have only limited impact on HTC sales

HTC’s CEO Peter Chou has said he expects Apple’s aggressive pricing of the 3G iPhone to have only limited impact on HTC handset sales.

While Apple has abandoned its revenue sharing agreements with carriers and are now encouraging aggressive subsidies by the same, HTC made the point that they have always enjoyed these subsidies, and that its Touch handhelds are often offered free on contract in Europe and Japan.

Peter Chou went on to say  he welcomes Apple’s competition as the availability of iPhones has allowed more consumers access to a better Internet experience through touch-screen smartphones.
