Is the HTC HD2 having stability and digitizer problems?UK based mobile phone industry magazine mobilenewscwp.co.uk claims mobile phone repair centres are being inundated for repairs for faulty digitizers on the HTC HD2 in UK.

“This is a massive issue. We are getting 10 requests a day to service this part on the HD2. If the digitiser breaks, often the LCD has to be replaced as well. And we are having trouble getting hold of new digitisers.” said Turn On Your Mobile proprietor Mark Pollak.

Unfortunately is more than hardware that’s the issue, with issues with freezes and crashes requiring a soft reset (which means removing the battery on the HD2) being a particular problem.

“It’s a really good phone but it tends to crash a lot. It’s these little niggles that stop it being a great phone.” said Complete Communications proprietor Adam Nyman said.

Using a stock Vodafone ROM on my own HTC HD2 I must agree the device is not as stable as when I used a cooked XDA ROM, an option not available to most punters in UK, which suggests HTC needs to do some more work on the carrier ROMs they are releasing, and that the device could really have done with an OTA ROM update feature.
