Previously HTC was quite gung-ho about 2009 and the effect of the disastrous economic climate, saying quite openly they did not feel any effect of the recession yet.
Its seems the cloudy economic outlook has now finally bitten even HTC, who, according to the Chinese Commercial Times has been forced to lower their guidance for revenue growth for 2009 from a relatively conservative 20% to an unstated much lower number. HTC however still hopes to struggle into the double digits.
Its not all doom and gloom however, as HTC President Peter Chou reports they had a great response to their new handsets displayed at CES , so expected robust sales to continue.
