HTC 7 Mozart Delayed on Telstra to November

Well it seems that HTC’s manufacturing delay affecting Windows Phone 7 devices has hit Australia. Specifically it has hit the HTC 7 Mozart and the HTC HD7 on Telstra.

Initially the plan was for Telstra to launch the HTC 7 Mozart on October 21 but only a few stores recieved limited stock. The Telstra store in my local area had a launch party planned for the 19th of October for Windows Phone 7 but that was cancelled and on October 21 there were no devices available, only dumby models.

Today I called Telstra to see if I can order the Mozart over the phone but it turns out the HTC 7 Mozart has been delayed till November the 7th. That’s right, November the 7th a full 2 weeks after it was ment to launch. Instead the LG Optimus 7Q is available, which is strange because the press release on October the 11th stated that the LG was coming in early novmeber. See for yourself  here.

How about the HD7? Well the above press release states that the HD7 is launching in the coming months exclusive to Telstra. Well I have also been informed that Telstra has no stock coming until after Christmas which likely means sometime in January.

It seems that HTC has some serious issues with their Windows Phone 7 devices for such large delays to be occuring. I hope that these delays mean better quality devices than they were intending to launch.

I recieved the above information from Telstra Customer Service over the phone today.

Are other countries seeing similar delays of HTC windows phone devices?
