HP announces new gaming hardware along with an updated Command Center software

At Gamescom 2019, HP announced new gaming hardware which will include the new Omen as well has Pavilion devices. Not only that, but HP is also upgrading their Command Center software with new features which will give gamers move control over different aspects of their laptops.

To kick things off, HP showcased new Omen hardware which includes the new OMEN X 27 Display, OMEN Mindframe Prime Headset, OMEN Encoder Keyboard and also showed soft goods from OMEN Transceptor line of accessories. Moving to Pavilion, HP also announced the new Pavilion Gaming Desktop, and Pavilion Gaming Keyboard 800. The company also showcased HP Pavilion Gaming 15 which is powered by AMD’s Ryzen 7 processors.

Talking about the specs, the OMEN X 27 Display comes with a Quad HD (2560 x 1440) resolution display and a high dynamic range and DCI P3 90 percent color gamut. The display will also support 240Hz refresh rate with a 1ms response time and is AMD Radeon FreeSync™ 2 HDR certified.

The OMEN Mindframe Headset comes with a built-in 7.1 surround sound powered by CMedia Xear™ creates realistic spatial awareness to accurately pinpoint in-game sounds. Added environmental noise canceling (ENC) microphones block out extra sound in the room so your voice comes through clear in the heat of battle. Lastly, the new OMEN Audio Lab within OMEN Command Center4 gives full control of the listening experience with a 10-band equalizer that has a variety of presets, audio level customization and on/off switches for the 7.1 surround sound and ENC microphones.

HP has also announced the new OMEN Apparel and the original OMEN X Transceptor backpack. The company has also introduced new additions that include OMEN Transceptor 17.3” Duffel Bag, 15” Rolltop Backpack, 15” Backpack and OMEN Transceptor Headset Case for the new OMEN Mindframe Prime Headset.

The Pavilion Desktops come with up to 9th Gen Intel i7 8-core or 3rd Gen, AMD Ryzen™ 7 8core processors, graphics of up to NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 2070 and latest RTX 2060 SUPER™, and up to 32 GB DDR4 memory. The desktops also include expansions slots and three drive bays for additional storage.

Lastly, HP has also introduced the new HP 22x and HP 24x gaming displays. Both the new displays come with a 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time, AMD Radeon™ FreeSync™ technology, high-quality integrated speakers and adjustable stands. The HP 24x features G-SYNC® and micro-bezels for a truly immersive gaming experience.

Moving on to software, HP has also announced plenty of upgrades to its Command Center app that lets users control and manage their hardware. The new OMEN Command Center will come with the following features:

  • With Rewards Beta (powered by Versus Systems) launching in the U.S., gamers can earn prizes playing the games they love, while improving their skills and competing with others.
  • Coaching arrives for OMEN PCs with initial support for League of Legends and more games on the roadmap. This AI-based tool (powered by Mobalytics) analyzes gameplay and provides key insights into strengths and weaknesses to improve player performance.
  • With My Games, gamers can manage their devices and access their game libraries from one central location, providing quick and easy access to their favorite games. Includes real-time monitoring of gameplay to keep track of how many hours spent on specific titles along with weekly insights.
  • The new Profiles feature allows the creation of mood, activity, or game-based profiles for OMEN PCs and accessories and includes support for the OMEN Sequencer Keyboard and OMEN Photon Mouse.

Pricing and Availability

The new hardware will be available later this year and you head below to take a look at the prices as well the availability information. HP is targeting both the US and Europe at the moment but we do expect to see the hardware soon in other parts of the world.   • Pavilion Gaming Keyboard 800 is available now via HP.com and other retailers for a starting price of $79.99.
  • HP 22x is expected to be available in August starting in Europe via HP.com and other retailers for a starting price €169.99.
