Tomorrow is going to be a big day for the folks at Redmond. Microsoft is expected to release Windows 10 Fall Update, Windows 10 Mobile, and the New Xbox One Experience tomorrow to the public. While the Windows 10 Fall Update and Windows 10 Mobile rollout hasn’t been officially confirmed, the NXOE rollout has been officially announced by Microsoft just a few weeks ago.
Today, in a new blog post, Microsoft detailed some things on the NXOE rollout. The company will begin the global rollout of the NXOE after 12:01 am PT (that’s 8:00 GMT) tomorrow. So how to get the NXOE on your Xbox One?
- If you use the Instant-on power mode (available via Settings – Power & startup), your Xbox One will take the update in the background when you put your console into Connected Standby mode. As this is a global rolling launch, consoles in Connected Standby will be updated at various times throughout the day based on your time zone.
- If your console is in Energy-saving mode, your Xbox One will not automatically download and install the update. To initiate the download and update process, you can go to Settings – System to manually check if an update is available and choose “Update Now”.
Interestingly enough, Microsoft will be prompting users for a mandatory update on November 23rd if they don’t get the NXOE by then. Obviously, the update may not be available for you instantly – so don’t fret if you don’t see the update at 12:01 am PT.
It is worth noting that the new Xbox One Backward Compatibility feature will start rolling out at 12:01 PM PT tomorrow, too. Nonetheless, if you own an Xbox One, are you excited about the NXOE? Let us know in the comment section below.
