On May 13, Helldivers 2 ramped up the war effort with a major update that dropped new enemies, gameplay systems, and gear options. Arrowhead Game Studios added fresh enemy types from the Illuminate faction, including the Stingray, a strafing aerial unit, the Crescent Overseer, which targets players in cover, and the Fleshmob, a hulking brute built from discarded Voteless parts. Players have also spotted massive unidentified ships in orbit, hinting at future threats.

The update introduces full customization for primary weapons. Players can now unlock attachments by completing missions and spending Requisition. New mods cover sights, barrels, magazines, and under-barrel gear, giving squads more control over their loadouts.

The Superstore overhaul makes all previous Warbond items permanently available. A rotating selection of six content bundles now refreshes every 48 hours. Starting May 15, the Masters of Ceremony Warbond will also bring new patterns for the Viper Commandos, Freedom’s Flame, Chemical Agents, and Truth Enforcers sets.

This update marks a major shift in how players engage with Helldivers 2’s ongoing galactic conflict. With tougher enemies and more flexible gear, squads will need sharper tactics to hold the line against the Illuminate.
