The good news with this phone, its a fully metal clad Windows 10 Mobile powered Windows phone for Japan that has good specs. The bad news? its a fully metal clad Windows 10 Mobile powered Windows phone for Japan that has good specs.
Vaio’s Phone Biz showed up today at Microsoft’s stall at MWC and we were able to get our hands on it and give it a go.
In terms of design, without being biased towards metal, we have to say the full metal design of the Vaio Phone Biz won us over. It is really solid in comparison to the Lumia 950 XL, and it doesn’t feel as cheap as Microsoft’s aforementioned flagship. Once more, Mouse’s device, it is also powered by a Snapdragon 617 and supports continuum over Miracast, It doesn’t have USB type C, so no support for any of the accessories from HP, Acer or Microsoft, but that’s not an issue for Vaio. Continuum works wirelessly as well so if your monitor supports the Miracast standard, all you need is a Bluetooth keyboard to get productive.
The Snapdragon 617 processor also has the benefit of making the device feel extra fast and snappy making it somewhat more suitable than an equivalent device with a Snapdragon 212 or something equally ridiculous.
Vaio’s Windows Phone will be sold exclusively in Japan later this year.
