Halo Wars 2’s demo is now available on Windows 10

While some might argue that demos are a dying medium, they’re still the best way to find out if you’ll like a game- the best judgment of what you’ll enjoy is your own, after all, and the best way to judge something is by experiencing it yourself. Microsoft knows this very well, and a demo for Halo Wars 2 went up at the end of last month– it just happened to be only on the Xbox One.

That left a lot of players wondering when PC gamers on Windows 10 would be able to give the demo a try, and now it’s available in the Windows Store. It’s pretty much identical to the Xbox One version – much like the full game – but includes all of the bells and whistles you’ll get with the main PC release, such as support for 4K resolution.

You’ll get to play through the first mission of the campaign, as well as a limited version of Firefight which puts you up against the AI with a set deck of cards. This clocks in at 16GB, so it might take a while to download depending on your internet speeds.
