Waze is a venerable social mapping platform, and until its acquisition by Google was in the process of developing a Windows Phone app.
This extended to rolling out a private beta program, and now WindowsPhoneItaly report this beta program has in fact continued, and is nearing its conclusion.
With the tensions between Google and Microsoft there is no guarantee that they app will in fact reach the market, but so far it appears that it remains on track.
The Waze app has more than 40 million users, who contribute mapping data, traffic conditions information, and even where the local speed cameras are. Hopefully the app will in fact managed to navigate its way around Google’s roadblock and turn up in the Windows Phone Store after all.
