Google rolled out major updates to Canvas inside the Gemini app on May 20, 2025. With the Gemini 2.5 model, users can now build apps, web pages, quizzes, and audio summaries with faster, more accurate results.

The Gemini Canvas turns simple prompts into working code or structured designs. You can generate apps, like a basic game or tool, without touching a line of code. Web pages now support interactive elements such as charts and cards. For those who prefer visual learning, Canvas creates visual briefs that break down complex topics into bite-sized content.

Users can also convert written content into audio discussions in over 45 languages, ideal for multitasking. The platform now supports importing and editing Deep Research reports directly in Canvas before exporting them to Docs.

These features are only available to users 18 or older. Personal accounts can share links, but Google Workspace users face some limitations, like blocked previews for apps using Workspace data.

In other headlines, Google also recently held its I/O event with several new announcements. You can read about them here.
