Dark themes are becoming more common ever since Microsoft rolled it out on Windows 10 and Apple followed suit with macOS. While Google prepares to launch its next version of Android, Q, the software maker has been steadily updating all of its apps so support a dark theme in preparation. Gallery Go is the latest. Aimed at users who want a native Gallery app without sending their photos into the cloud, the app has now received a dark mode in settings so as not to blind users at night.

With Android Pie and Android Q, Googe has introduced and enhanced its system-wide dark theme. Users on devices running those versions of Android would already have the ‘update’ in one sense. Its users who are on older versions like Oreo and Nougat for whom this update would be most useful.
