Google will only announce Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, Pixel Ultra doesn’t exist

Google is less than a month away from launching the new Pixel devices. While we have conflicting leaks on Pixel devices, there were rumours that Google might launch three Pixel devices this year.

The Pixel Ultra rumours started last year before the Pixel 2 launch with someone sharing a slideshow image with the caption “Pixel Ultra, Powered by Google”. However, that image turned out to be a fake. It was just a bad photoshop job by someone. Moving on to May, the rumours emerged again with a render shared by Ben Geskin. However, that image later turned out to be just a placeholder for Android Pie.

People also spotted an unknown Pixel device in a “Make Google do it” advertisement featuring Katarina Johnson. The unknown Pixel device turned out to be the Pixel 2 XL.

Finally there were leaked Pixelbook ads which showed another unknown Pixel device. While we all thought it was a Pixel 3, 9to5Google claims that it was just a bad photoshop job that made Pixel 2 XL look like an unknown unannounced Pixel device.

We don’t actually know what Google has planned for this year’s event and it’s because of these conflicting leaks and rumours. We do hope Google does the right thing and not launch the ugly notch phone but we will just have to wait.
