Google updates Chrome Canary with support for clipboard sync

Google is rolling out a new update for its Canary branch. The latest update will allow users to sync their clipboard across devices while using Google Chrome.

According to Chromium Gerrit (via Neowin), Chrome developers have added two new flags into Google Chrome Canary for a feature called ‘Shared Clipboard’. The following description sheds light on how the feature will work on Chrome:

Enable receiver device to handle shared clipboard feature – Enables receiver device to handle shared clipboard feature by showing a notification to receive the clipboard to share.

Enable shared clipboard feature signals to be handled – Enables shared clipboard feature signals to be handled by showing a list of user’s available devices to share the clipboard.

The developers have added the flags to the latest version of Chrome Canary but the features aren’t complete so enabling the flags does nothing at the moment. The description, however, does confirm that the feature will work on Windows, Mac and Android.
