Google takes a step to prevent websites from detecting when users are visiting them in incognito

Google Chrome has a great Incognito experience and the company makes sure none of your private information is saved. To accomplish this, Chrome disables the FileSystem API to ensure that no files are saved when the user is in Incognito mode.

However, companies abuse the system to identify users who access their website in incognito mode. Chromium developers are now working on a solution for the issue. To make it work, the developers are planning to deprecate and remove FileSystem API completely from Google Chrome. The company has added a flag in the latest Chrome Canary build but it seems that the flag doesn’t work right now.

However, we do expect Google to add this feature to the public version of Chrome soon. The flag is currently just a placeholder inside Chrome but once completed, it should work as intended.
