Google Search will stop indexing Flash content later this year

Google yesterday announced that it will stop indexing Flash content this year. If your website has Flash content, Google Search will soon ignore them. Websites need to switch to HTML5 if they want to get indexed by Google Search. End users will not have any impact by this change.

Adobe Flash was a runtime platform that was installed on over 500 million devices at one point. With the rise of touch-based smartphones, Flash platform lost its way. It is important to note that Flash is already disabled by default in Chrome, Edge, and FireFox browsers.
