On May 20, 2025, Google unveiled a revamped version of Androidify, an open-source app that lets users create personalized Android bots. This new iteration leverages modern Android technologies, including Jetpack Compose, Gemini via Firebase, CameraX, and Navigation 3.

Users can generate custom bots by capturing a photo or entering a text prompt. The app employs Gemini 2.5 Flash and Imagen 3 models to validate inputs, generate detailed descriptions, and produce the final bot images. Additionally, ML Kit’s pose detection ensures the camera captures clear images of individuals.

The user interface, built with Jetpack Compose and Material 3 Expressive, features adaptive layouts suitable for various devices, including foldables and tablets. CameraX integration provides functionalities like zoom, tap-to-focus, and rear camera support. Media3 APIs facilitate the inclusion of instructional videos within the app.

Navigation between different sections of the app is managed using the new Navigation 3 library, allowing for smooth transitions and back stack control. Google plans to release a fine-tuned Imagen model later this year to enhance the bot creation experience.
