Google Project Fi’s new feature can protect your online activity from Google itself

Google Project Fi today announced a couple of new features that will allow users to have more security and privacy without compromising on speed. Project Fi’s new feature called enhanced network extends VPN to both your WiFi and cellular connections. All of your cellular and Wi-Fi traffic will be encrypted and securely sent through Google’s VPN so that others can’t see your online activity. Google claims that even Google itself can’t track your online activity when you use this feature.

This feature also automatically switches between WiFi and cellular depending on signal strength. As per Google’s internal tests, this feature has reduced the time without a proper internet connection by up to 40 percent. Google is rolling out this new enhanced network feature later this week to Fi devices running Android P.
