Google might be planning to launch an entirely different device on October 9

We already know everything about the Google’s upcoming Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL but it looks like everything might just be a smokescreen. Recently, a YouTuber came forward claiming that Google approached him and other YouTubers to share clips of them criticizing the Pixel 3’s notch.

According to him, this a normal practice by companies ahead of launch but for some reasons Google asked the YouTubers to share videos of them criticizing the notch. The video was shared by Front Page Tech claiming they received an email from the Google’s Hardware team asking for clips of him criticizing the design and notch of Pixel 3 XL. Before you jump to conclusions, he confirmed that the email was indeed sent by Google and not by someone else.

He pointed out to a theory which might be wrong that Google just pulled the best marketing stunt to make sure we focus on Google. There might be a chance that the Pixel 3 XL was just a dummy device by Google to divert everyone from the real device. He also pointed out that Google might launch a device without notch on October 9 and the device we saw doesn’t exists. If this is true, the Google just managed to pull the best stunt to make sure everyone focuses on them instead of Samsung’s Note 9 or Apple’s upcoming iPhone lineup. The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL leaks looked fake from the starting as we rarely get to see high resolution photos of the device let alone see the complete unboxing.

While we can’t confirm or deny anything, hats-off to Google if they actually manage to pull off something like this.  We still have one month left before the Google’s annual event so we might get to see the actually Pixel 3 XL or we might all be right all along and the Pixel 3 XL will come with a notch (fortunately or unfortunately).
