Google’s Pixel and Pixel 2 last year followed the trend f releasing high-end phones at even higher-end prices, now reports indicate that Google might be making a slow return to reality.
Via a report from the Economic Times, Google plans to release a cheaper Pixel phone which it has aimed at nations like India which often opt for cheaper value phones like the Xiaomi Redmi’s, Huawei Honor’s et al
“Google is excited about the expansion of the consumer products business in India with the advent of the cheap 4G internet led by Reliance Jio and other operators which it says will help to realise the maximum potential of these products,” said a retailer, which had met with Google., planning its upcoming product launch.
It will precede the Pixel 3, and will arrive in time for a summer launch in those regions.
It’s unclear whether Google plans to bring its cheaper Pixels worldwide, or if it’ll be limited to India.
