On May 20, 2025, at Google I/O, the company unveiled Gemini 2.5, its most advanced AI model to date. This model powers new features across Google’s ecosystem, including AI Mode in Search, which transforms search queries into conversational interactions. Users can now ask complex questions and receive detailed, context-aware responses.

Gemini 2.5 also enhances Gmail with personalized Smart Replies that mimic the user’s writing style. In Google Meet, real-time translation capabilities break down language barriers during video calls. Additionally, the Gemini app introduces Agent Mode, assisting users with tasks like apartment hunting by automating searches and scheduling tours.

For developers, Google launched tools like Jules, an AI-assisted coding companion, and Imagen 4, which generates detailed images from text prompts. The new video tool, Flow, enables AI-powered animations and film creation, enhancing realism and interactivity.

In hardware, Google introduced Android XR smart glasses, developed in collaboration with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. These glasses display AR elements and integrate with Google’s services for a seamless experience.

To access these advanced features, Google offers tiered subscriptions: AI Pro at $20/month and AI Ultra at $250/month, providing users with varying levels of AI capabilities.

These announcements underscore Google’s commitment to embedding AI across its products, aiming to enhance user experiences through advanced, context-aware technologies.
