It has been a while since Google rolled out PiP support for Chrome on PC and the company has been making changes to the feature since then. Google has rolled out minor updates in the past to add new features to the Picture in Picture mode and the latest update brings some much-needed UI changes to the feature.

The new update adds native controls for YouTube and also brings the playback button to PiP. Apart from that, Google also improved the placement of pause/play and mute buttons and those are now moved to the middle. The background will now also darken when you move your mouse over the video playing back.

These changes are currently available in Chrome Canary build and can be enabled using a Flag- Experimental Web Platform features.

Since these features are now available for Chrome, we can expect all the other Chromium-based browsers including Edge to adapt it.
