Good News! Updated to Version 2.0

Good News!, from Moonspace Labs, lets you aggregate news from many of your favorite day-to-day news sources into a single view letting you quickly scan which news stories you want to read while skipping those you don’t. However, some days you simply want to focus less on the violence in the world around you and focus more on the less-violent news. Good News! filters out many of the news stories containing violent and/or sexually explicit content (these features can be configured in the settings).

You can currently select from seven popular U.S. news sources, seven World News sources, eight technology news sources, and eight entertainment news sources.

What’s new in version 2.0?

  • Read articles are now “grayed” out (i.e. they appear dimmer than the non-read articles) making it easy to determine what you’ve already read.
  • Ability to turn on/off the “FavIcons” in the article listing. If you are on a limited data plan then you might not want to include the FavIcons to reduce data usage. This can be configured in the settings.
  • A new menu option, this article should be blocked, has been added when reading an article. If you feel the article should have been filtered out for one or more reasons, simply select this menu option and it will provide a formatted e-mail message so you can notify us. We will use this feedback to better tune the article filters.
  • Miscellaneous filter updates.

Download Good News!In the next version (v2.1) we will be providing a Windows Phone 8.1 version (we’ll still have an 8.0 version as well) that will include the ability to share articles using apps other than just e-mail (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, etc.).

The free trial version never expires but is ad-supported. However, you can opt to buy the full version if you do not want to see the ads.

You can download Good News from the Windows Phone Store here or you can scan the QR code below.
