Superfish Windows Defender

Microsoft today updated Windows Defender to remove Superfish adware from affected Lenovo PCs. I guess this move from Microsoft should protect most of the affected PCs from any attack related to Superfish.

Yesterday, we reported about Lenovo installing adware in their new consumer PCs. This adware named Superfish inserts third-party ads on Google searches and websites without the user’s permission. Lenovo later provided a detailed statement on this issue. Key takeaway from their statement was that this Superfish was stopped from pre-loading on new PCs in January and they have disabled server side interactions as well.
