Speaking to Eurogamer, Microsoft’s [email protected] boss Chris Charla revealed that Microsoft has now enabled developers to submit trial games in Xbox One. In Xbox One, you already have game demos, but you have to download the full game again when you want to purchase it. In lots of developing nations where Internet speed and limit is an issue, this was an annoying thing. But now, that ‘trial’ experience where you could download a demo and then convert it to a full version is back in Xbox One just like it was during Xbox 360 days. But then, game developers should make use of this feature as the games which are already in Xbox Store won’t work this way.
“But now we do. In the same way that we update the Xbox One OS every month, they update the development system every month – or regularly, anyway. So that’s something that we recently turned on. I don’t think we’ve seen any [email protected] games yet that have shipped with trials, but we may well in the future. It’s something that’s open to everybody.”
