Gears 5 got quite the feature during E3 2019, including a new trailer showing off the game’s new mode – Escape.
But first: Rod Ferguson, head of The Coalition, confirmed that the release date for the game is September 10th, confirming the rumours we reported on earlier. He also provided a roadmap for Gears 5’s near future.
First up was Escape, which is a brand new mode. It’s a three-play co-op experience in which you and your two allies team up as Hivebusters who have to infiltrate a hive, tactfully place a bomb, and then run like hell.
That’s not all, however! A multiplayer tech test for the game will be coming on July 17th and the new horde mode, which introduces character abilities, will be showcased at Gamescom in August.
You can watch the trailer for Escape below.
Gears 5 launches on September 10, 2019. You can play four days early with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, playable on Xbox One and Windows 10.
As a nice bonus, Gears 5 will have its own Terminator: Dark Fate DLC pack as a freebie at launch if you pre-order the game or play with Xbox Game Pass. You can watch the reveal trailer for it below.
