Since 2012, the UN has marked October 11th as International Day Of The Girl. To celebrate, War Child is partnering with Steam, Google Play, and for a sale that celebrates women in video games.

The sale celebrates both female protagonists in video games and the women who work in the gaming industry, with proceeds from the sale going to help vulnerable children affected by conflict.

Steam’s Day Of The Girl sale will run from today, October 9th, all the way until October 16th. Multiple titles across the store have been discounted, including Gone Home, Transistor, ABZÛ, Her Story, and many more. You can shop the sale for yourself by following the link here.

Android users can head over to the Google Play Store to pick up a number of games including Monument Valley, Bury me, my Love, Dandara, and others. Just be aware that not all games are on sale, but a percentage of proceeds still go to charity. is also celebrating Day Of The Girl with games such as Iconoclasts, Okami HD, Gris, Sundered, and several others. As with the Google Play Store, not all games are on sale, but a number of proceeds will still go to support War Child.
