Game Review: The Revenants

The Revenants is a fun time waster, but falls short in lasting value (Video Review)

Overall Score: 4/5TheRevenants

While the visuals and gameplay are really great, the lack of any other gameplay modes makes the game short lasting.

Gameplay: 4/5

You play as a little glowing orb of light that has to create vortexes to suck your enemies into. Then, you receive their souls, which gives you extra lives and more points. The controls work really well: you simply drag your finger around and the orb follows your finger. The gameplay is fun thanks to the variation in enemies. Some enemies will follow you while others will move around randomly, which adds nice variety to the gameplay.

Presentation: 5/5

The sounds in the game are absolutely fabulous. Watch the video review above if you haven’t yet! The visuals are also great. The vortexes look awesome when they distort the screen. The presentation really does make this game more fun.

Lasting Value: 2/5

There’s only one gameplay mode in the game, so you can make it last as long as you want by competing for high scores. You can also play the three different difficulty settings. But this is the game’s weakness. If high scores and unlocking achievements are interesting to you, this would be fun, but otherwise the game is very short lived.
