Game Review: Tetravex

This challenging puzzle game is worth downloading for FREE!

Overall Score: 4/5

Fun gameplay and great controls make this free challenging puzzle game a great choice.

Gameplay: 4/5

Tetravex was originally bundled in a Windows Entertainment Pack, but now it’s available on your Windows Phone thanks to a third-party developer! In Tetravex, you have a bunch of squares with numbers on their sides, and you have to match up the squares in the puzzle board so that all the numbers touching each other match. The touch controls work perfectly and the game itself is quite fun to play when you’re bored. Plus, it uses a decent amount of logic and is challenging. And it even has a swipe gesture if you need to move your entire group of pieces to the left or right.

Presentation: 4/5

The game looks quite good, and the visuals look even better than Microsoft’s original game. Plus, the colors use your accent color, so it all matches with your phone! There are also sound effects for when tiles are placed, and a winning sound effect at the end.

Lasting Value: 3/5

Tetravex is a decently challenging game and can last you awhile. The toughest difficulty (5×5 grid) can be quite tough! However, the game lacks an online leaderboard which could certainly help. Maybe a race mode could be added where you have to complete as many 3×3 grids in 10 mins, and your score is how many grids you complete?qrcode
