Game Review: Retro Warfare Limited

Retro Warfare: Limited is a classic themed platformer game where you jump and shoot your way across the levels.

Overall Score: 2/5

Because of the terrible lasting value (the game can be beat in 10 minutes or less), the game falls completely flat on its face. The gameplay is really awesome, but the controls are only so-so, and the weak lasting value ruins the otherwise fun gameplay.

Gameplay: 2/5

The controls in the game work decently, but are a real pain when the game makes you jump on these tiny moving platforms. Otherwise, the gameplay is really fun and has some awesome variation and challenges to it. It’s also set at a satisfying difficulty, that makes each level rewarding to finish. However, this fun gameplay is over super quickly, because of the bad lasting value. That short gameplay duration actually hurts the gameplay score.

Presentation: 4/5

The game’s visual style is great, and the sound effects/music is fantastic. However, the menu interface can be a bit confusing at times, like when you are trying to find the continue button after losing a level.

Lasting Value: 1/5

When you pay money for a game, you expect it to last longer than ten minutes. Heck, even when you download a free game, you expect it will last for over 10 minutes! This game, however, can be beat in less than that. It will probably take you about 30 or less minutes to beat it, since it will take you some time to get used to the controls, but it’s extremely disappointing when the game is over so quickly.
