Retro Warfare 2 is an updated release of the original Retro Warfare: Limited, and it features better controls, updated music, and better visuals. The free trial lets you play the first 3 levels. Btw, it is not Mango enabled yet.

Overall Score: 3/5

With the very short lasting value (about 20 minutes) and little to no replay value, it’s a risky buy. But the gameplay is fun and the presentation is pretty good!

Gameplay: 4/5

This game nails the simplicity of a platformer shooter. There are plenty of unique challenges including jumps, small platforms, and tricky enemies that require precision to kill without being shot back. The controls are a lot better than the original version, and there are even some new enemies that you’ll encounter. The Destruction mode adds some extra fun where you race to kill all the enemies as fast as possible. It’s a sick game, if only the lasting value was better!

Presentation: 4/5

The visuals are satisfyingly retro, and the music is pretty great. Each level has its own song, so the music is fun to listen to. It also loads decently fast.

Lasting Value: 1/5

Unfortunately, the game only lasts a total of 20 minutes or so. There’s not really any replay value either. The Destruction mode is fun, but it only has one single level, and that only adds about 5 minutes extra until you’re done with it. This game definitely needs more levels!
