Game Review: PsychTest

Do you take those personality tests on Facebook all the time? Are you ready to bring those quizzes to your phone? If so, PsychTest may be the app for you.

Overall Score: 2/5PsychTest

Since the app only includes 7 tests, occasionally doesn’t have the best questions/answers, and doesn’t feature the ability to share your results, the app ranks pretty low.

Gameplay: 2/5

The personality tests include quizzes that tell you how soft-hearted you are, if you’re optimistic or pessimistic, if you are stuck in the past or look to the future, if you’re addicted to the internet, etc. So there’s a good range of tests, but there are only 7 total. Each quiz contains between about 10 or 25 questions, but you’ll come across the occasional question doesn’t have a definite “no” answer, which diminishes the quality of the quizzes. Also, sharing your test results is all the rage nowadays, but this app doesn’t have a single share via text, email, or to Facebook option. Half of the fun of these tests is sending the results to your friends and bragging that the test says you will be successful in your love life! Otherwise, the results of the tests are well written. The results elaborate on your personality with elegant language and romanticism, which is uplifting to read.

Presentation: 3/5

The visuals are alright, but basic. The transitions work, but the interface is very simple. The little visual glitch when you open the game (some sort of splash screen flashes for a brief second but isn’t visible long enough to read) is slightly annoying.

Lasting Value: 2/5

Since there’s only 7 quizzes, your 99 cents won’t take you far. Since you can’t share your results, there’s not much incentive to reopen the app and look at your past results.
