Game Review: Pairanoia

Challenge yourself with this unique logic game!

Overall Score: 4/5

Good gameplay and lasting value makes Pairanoia worth it for FREE!

Gameplay: 4/5

Pairanoia is a neat logic game. If you’ve never played it before (like me), you’ll have to read the instructions to learn how the game works. You can play against the computer, play locally against a friend by passing the phone, or even play by yourself and simply try to create a high score. The game is set up pretty well so that who goes first or second doesn’t really decide who wins the game. Overall it’s quite fun once you get into Pairanoia and understand it!

Presentation: 3/5

Navigating through Pairanoia can be confusing, since most of the icons don’t have any labels and they aren’t very self-explanatory. Also, the background image on the board doesn’t slide when you pan around, which makes your tiles seem like they’re simply floating in mid air. But otherwise the game is pretty polished.

Lasting Value: 4/5

There are plenty of modes here (computer, single player, local multiplayer) and 5 different board sizes, and leaderboards. You can get a nice amount of lasting value out of the game. However, it would be nice if the leaderboards were accessible from the main menu instead of having to create a new game.QRCode
