Game Review: Magnets

In this tricky game, you have to direct one or two magnets into their retrospective hole by using other stationary magnets and some plain old trial-and-error. The free trial will let you play the first 10 levels.

Overall Score: 3/5

The gameplay can be challenging, but annoying is more the word. The presentation is good (super fast resume speeds) but the lasting value is weak.

Gameplay: 3/5

Figuring out which magnet you should use and where to place it and what size can be a fun little puzzle, but it usually feels like all the game is is trial-and-error, since you can’t be too precise about where you are placing your magnets, and you can’t even tell how fast the initial magnet will be moving till you press play. The game has tricky moments, but there’s nothing too rewarding about it, and it lacks a scoring system. Nevertheless, it is a fun idea and provides some decent enjoyment.

Presentation: 4/5

This game resumes FAST! It resumes almost as fast as a Mango app would. The visual design is also smooth and clean looking. The game could use some music though!

Lasting Value: 2/5

You’ll only get about one to two hours of gameplay, and once you beat the game, there’s no incentive to replay any levels, since there isn’t a scoring system.
