Game Review: Impulse

Test your reactions and rapid thinking skills with Impulse, which features some speedy brain puzzles similar to Brain Age.

Overall Score: 3/5

While the gameplay is fun, the lasting value is limited due to the small selection of game modes. The presentation is alright.

Gameplay: 3/5

The game features some fun little brain puzzles like matching the shape with the previous shape, but the variation of puzzles can quickly become boring and the game doesn’t do anything very fresh compared to other titles like it. The controls work well, but overall it’s just a mediocre game.

Presentation: 4/5

The visual design is very simple and clean, and the sound effects are well featured. The “dings” and buzzes for correct and wrong answers are perfect, and the sound of the cards flipping to the next card adds the finishing touch to the presentation.

Lasting Value: 3/5

The game sadly only features three different gameplay modes in it, but it does also have a daily challenge mode where it picks a different puzzle for you each day, which is exciting. And it does have daily/weekly/all time leaderboards which is a plus. And the two different difficulty settings in each game mode also enhance the lasting value. However, the game needs some more different brain puzzles to last longer.
