Game Review: Implode!

In Implode!, you demolish buildings using a set number of explosives.

Overall Score: 2/5

My advice is to stay away from this game. Nothing about it feels very satisfying or fun, and it completely lacks any background music.

Gameplay: 2/5

All you do in this game is use explosives to make a building collapse. You do have to use some logic to make the buildings collapse below the dotted goal line, and there is some cool variation with other buildings or lakes you have to avoid, but overall, the gameplay doesn’t ever leave you feeling satisfied or accomplished. Each level is essentially the same as the last. There are different bombs like black-hole bombs, but the gameplay still doesn’t feel varied and enjoyable enough to recommend.

Presentation: 2/5

What the heck is that noise in the background?? It’s intentional? The developers put a static noise as the “background music” in the game. The lack of background music is already disappointing, but replacing that with static noise is even worse! The visuals are alright, and the game loads pretty fast, but this odd lack of background music really hurts the game.

Lasting Value: 3/5

You’ll get about two and a half hours of lasting value from the game. You are also rated on a letter grade scale for each level, so you can replay levels in order to improve your grade. Overall, the lasting value isn’t great, but it’s functional.
