Game Review: I Dig It

Are you going on a long road trip? I Dig It is the perfect title to keep you entertained for over 15 hours!

Overall Score: 5/5IDigIt

This game is absolutely fun! It does everything perfectly.

Gameplay: 5/5

The controls work really well, so you don’t need to worry about those. You may be wondering, what is this game? Well, you control a farm tractor that was converted into a drilling/flying machine! Using this contraption, you drill through the soil to find valuable gems, rocks, and antiques. Then, you sell the antiques to the farm’s owner, which gives you money to buy upgrades to your machine. The gameplay elements are fantastic: You can upgrade your drill bit, your radar, gas tank, and more, which let you drill through deeper rock, see better further down, continue drilling longer, and more! You’ll have to ration your upgrades since money is limited at first. You can also buy extras like dynamite or spare gas tanks. There are a bunch of different challenges in the game thanks to the different campaign missions. Some are simply cash collecting missions, while others are rescue missions, and others are even under water. The variation of the game, and everything else about it is perfect.

Presentation: 5/5

The visuals look great, especially when you visit a new continent which has its own unique visual theme. The animations of the drilling machine are fluid and the textures in the game are nicely detailed. The sound effects are also very fitting and help bring the game to life.

Lasting Value: 5/5

Can I please give this a 6/5? You’re going to get 15 or more hours of gameplay out of this! The campaign alone will take you about 9 or 10 hours to complete. Then, there is the free play mode (which could last infinitely) and the mini games mode, which give you some more solid hours of gameplay. This is perfect for that cross country road trip with your family.
