Game Review: Golden Arrow

Golden Arrow is a neat 3D bow-and-arrow shooter containing lots of fun challenges.

Overall Score: 4/5GoldenArrow

Even though the game is quite simple, the presentation is incredible and the gameplay is challenging.

Gameplay: 4/5

The controls take some getting used to, but they work pretty well once you understand them. You use two fingers, one to control the aim and one to control the power. For some shots, you will have to arc the arrow by adjusting the power, while for others you will have to have precise timing to shoot around moving obstacles. The variety of the levels keeps the challenge interesting and fresh. As you progress through the game, the levels become tougher and tougher. There is also a wind element to factor in. The gameplay only gets a 4/5 because the controls aren’t perfect. Otherwise the game is really great.

Presentation: 5/5

This is a great looking 3D game, with some nice music/sound effects paired to it. The sounds playing while you’re in a game are natural nature sounds, which is very peaceful. And the load times on the game are fantastic despite the good graphics it contains.

Lasting Value: 4/5

Beating all of the levels in the game will maybe take you and hour and a half to two hours. Since that isn’t much lasting value, you can also go back and try to get gold medals on each , which will definitely extend the gameplay time.
