Game Review: geoDefense Swarm

geoDefense Swarm is a must-have game! It is awesome!

Overall Score: 5/5

Truly awesome gameplay, great visuals, and excellent lasting value!

Gameplay: 5/5

This is a tower defense-style game, and I am not a huge fan of tower defense games, but geoDefense Swarm is one of the most fun games I have played! The variety of towers is excellent, and you need to use every single type of tower if you want to win. The difficulty is perfect and remains challenging while not becoming frustrating. The controls are natural and work well. In geoDefense Swarm, you actually create your own path by placing towers, which is a departure from the linear style of the original geoDefense. At first you may not like this change, but after playing it, I found myself enjoying the open-world style even more!

Presentation: 4/5

The visuals are beautiful and colors truly pop out on high-end devices like the Focus S or Lumia 900. The game unfortunately doesn’t have any music, but you won’t notice the silence too much between the sound effects of your turrets and your extreme focus on the game.

Lasting Value: 5/5

Thanks to the difficulty of the game, you can spend a lot of hours playing the medium and hard difficulties. I could see myself getting at least 5 hours of gameplay from geoDefense Swarm. After that, you can always replay levels to try and complete them without dying, and also go for high scores or try to unlock achievements. The score system is excellent, since you receive a multiplier if you kill enemies close to the exit, which entices you to replay levels and be as risky as possible!qrcode
