Game Review: Electric Beans

In this free game, you move these electric light beams in order to light up all the lanterns on the table. Yes, the game’s title has a typo, but that’s what it is actually called in the Marketplace.

Overall Score: 3/5ElectricBeans

While the gameplay is fun, the controls lack multitouch and the lasting value is weak.

Gameplay: 3/5

Trying to light up every single lantern by moving around a limited set of lasers is pretty challenging when you get to the tougher levels. However, the main menu only lets you access the first 10 levels even though there are more levels after that, so that bug decreases the enjoyment of the game. Also, the controls slightly hurt the game since you can only move one laser at a time; multitouch would make moving the lasers a lot quicker. The game’s lack of variety also hurts it slightly. But it is a fun free puzzle game nonetheless.

Presentation: 3/5

There’s no sound effects or music, which is alright since it is a simple game. The visuals are actually pretty nice for this simple game. If the game did have sounds, it would receive a higher score.

Lasting Value: 2/5

Depending on how good you are at puzzle games, the game will last between 30 minutes and an hour most likely. After that, there’s not really any replay value since you already beat the levels.
