Game Review: de Blob

de Blob is a decently popular multiplatform logic game which is also on Windows Phone 7!

Overall Score: 4/5deBlob

de Blob presents some great logic challenges, solid presentation, and decent lasting value, making it a great choice if you’re looking for a logic puzzle game.

Gameplay: 5/5

The controls are really easy to use, just drag out a route for your character to follow, and the accuracy is almost always spot on. The gameplay revolves around a few basic ideas: You can’t cross over any path you already traveled on, you want to rescue as many graydians as possible, and you need to get a fast time. When you combine those three elements, you get a challenging logic puzzle which is always fun to complete. The game has three different variations on the gameplay (Rescue, Speed Rescue, and INKT Chase) and 5 different difficulty levels that you unlock by getting higher scores in previous levels.

Presentation: 5/5

The music is really great and complements the theme of the game. The sound effects also go well with the visuals. The graphics are also actually pretty nice in this title. The great presentation really helps bring this game together.

Lasting Value: 3/5

Unlocking and playing all the modes takes about 2 hours. After that, you could work your way through the achievements, or replay the levels for fun, but there’s not too much else to do. And the score system can be frustrating when you get –20 points for your time on the Rescue mode, even though that mode doesn’t have a timer.
