Game Review: Crystal Tower

This physics-based game has some cool gameplay and is free to download.

Overall Score: 4/5

While the gameplay and lasting value is good, the presentation is a little disappointing. Nevertheless, it’s a fun game!

Gameplay: 4/5

Either I suck at this game, or it’s very challenging! In the game, you have a tower of blue and red blocks, and they’re standing on a narrow platform. You have to tap and destroy the blue blocks strategically to make sure the red blocks fall so that they land on the platform. This turns out to be pretty fun! The levels continuously get tougher as you go, and they have some good variation. You can only drop nine red blocks in a set of levels though, so you have to be very careful.

Presentation: 3/5

The visuals are decent, but the game lacks an indicator for what level you’re on! Not knowing how many levels you have left is a little annoying. The game does feature sound effects though, which is a positive.

Lasting Value: 4/5

Simply because of how difficult the game is, you’ll get quite a bit of lasting value out of it! And after you beat it, you can play around with the level editor, which lets you submit levels to the developer so that he could include them in a future update. It would score a 5/5 if it had leaderboards.
