The Game Awards’ Geoff Keighley states Project Scorpio will cost $499

Geoff Keighley is a known and trusted member of the gaming industry. His list of projects go from hosting various events to holding the prestigious The Game Awards every year. Well, today, he seemingly confirmed that Project Scorpio would be priced at $499. This is contrary to the price of $399 many people were expecting. Hopefully he’s wrong but it doesn’t seem like it. If anyone has any knowledge about the price, it’s definitely him.

Microsoft is lowering the price of the standard Xbox One S to $199 for a week so it somewhat makes sense that Project Scorpio would be priced so high. It’s definitely a premium console which can supposedly run most games at native 4K resolution. Given the components used, and the insane amount of technology packed into the box, the $499 figure seems plausible. However, as with any such leak, take it with a grain of salt until we have official confirmation from Microsoft. Who knows? They might just surprise us.
